The Blue Ridge Apartment Council (BRAC) is a local trade association of rental property owners and managers whose goal is to foster the highest level of professional property management.

Priorities:

  1. Education - Annual landlord/tenant, Fair Housing, Marketing and local interest seminars.
  2. Legislative Involvement - Support of the Virginia Apartment Management Association, as a member association, in its efforts to monitor and influence landlord/tenant issues coming before the State Legislature.
  3. Local Governmental Issues - BRAC monitors and its members participate with the local governing bodies including City Council and the Board of Supervisors. Issues of present concern include historic and architectural control districts and neighborhood deterioration/property maintenance.
  4. Information Sharing and Networking - The monthly BRAC Board meetings and quarterly luncheon meetings offer a unique forum to meet property management professionals and to address common concerns.

Membership:

The Blue Ridge Apartment Council (BRAC) is a charter member of the Virginia Apartment and Management Association (VAMA) and a member of the National Apartment Association (NAA). There are two categories of membership in BRAC: Owner/Manager and Associate.

Owner/Manager Member:

  • Own or manage 32 units or less - $ 225/year plus $1.22 per unit.
  • Own or manage 33 units or more - $ 350/year plus $1.22 per unit.

Associate Member:

  • Own or manage no units; provide products or services to housing industry - $ 160/year.
